A Kingdom-centered community where faith meets fellowship, and the Word of God transforms lives through authentic relationships.
Kori & Alisia - The heart and vision behind Backing The Word ministry
Alisia and Kori met at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor through mutual friends and a shared biology course. Their connection blossomed into a lasting friendship grounded in faith and purpose.
From their college days discussing scripture and supporting each other through life's challenges, they discovered a calling to create spaces where authentic Christian community could flourish. Their shared vision of "backing the Word" with their lives became the foundation for this ministry.
Today, Kori and Alisia continue to lead by example, showing what it means to walk in purpose, be vessels for God's love, and live out the truth that "the Word still works" in every season of life. Their friendship remains at the heart of BTW's mission to create authentic, transformative community.
Backing The Word is a Kingdom-centered nonprofit ministry focused on faith, purpose, outreach, and legacy. We create an authentic community where believers gather to study God's Word, support one another through life's journey, and boldly live out our faith in practical, transformative ways.
We believe that when we back the Word with our lives, God's truth becomes a powerful force for healing, hope, and positive change in our families, communities, and world. Our diverse, multi-functional, faith-driven community lives God's Word out loud through Bible study, service projects, community outreach, travel experiences, and spiritual resources.

Our foundational beliefs that guide our community and ministry
We believe that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Our daily lives reflect obedience to God's Word through action, prayer, service, and study.
We are called to serve. Through blessing bags, food drives, and prayer walks, we bring light to our community and meet people where they are, as Jesus did.
We believe in creating a safe space for all believers. Unity is not uniformity — it is the intentional choice to walk together despite differences. All are welcome.
God's Word is living, active, and relevant today. Scripture guides everything we do — from our conversations to our community efforts to our spiritual growth.
We don't strive for perfect lives, but purposeful ones. Every step forward in faith matters, and God uses our imperfections for His glory and our growth.
